They recommended "turning off vertex shaders" to fix the bug. It SEEMS for the time being, that this HAS worked around the error. However, since it is still a bug in wine, I'm going to leave it as unresolved. Additionally, I kept the pixel shaders enabled so the flashlight would work and it LOOKS fine in the game and I have YET to have a crash.
