Summary: Supreme Commander demo loses main cursor after cursor
changes
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.32.
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.fileshack.com/file.x/10158/Supreme+Commander+
Demo
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-dinput
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ehoover(a)mines.edu
Once you get the Supreme Commander demo to the battlefield (see Bug #7507 and
Bug #7542) the main mouse cursor disappears if you put your mouse over any of
the special objects (causing a cursor change) and then move the mouse off again.
This problem looks like it may be a result of the implementor of
SetCursorProperties mis-reading the MSDN documentation and releasing the cursor
on each SetCursorProperties call rather than after a device reset.

Ok,
I'm sorry my English wasn't quite as clear as it should've been.
And I'm sorry I assumed all games work in the same way when they don't.
I've only ever seen wine behave in one way: by warping the pointer back to the
windows centre. This bug is the departure from that behaviour.
All I needed to hear was: (1) Duplicate of 6971. (2) Judging by the description,
AvP probably doesn't use dinput warping.
I imagine a whole swathe of regression bugs turning up isn't fun, but I'm just
trying to help out.
Lets see:
>Normally games with mouse input recentre the mouse on the display every time
>you make an input movement.
Some old games - might be. But this statement is invalid in it's nature.
>As of (between 0.9.25 and 0.9.28) AvP doesn't do this: as you look round
>the mouse pointer keeps moving and eventually leaves the window. Affects
> both fullscreen and 'Emulate Virtual Desktop' modes.
Then this game does not warp mouse curse at all. Even on windows!

I don't understand what your problem with my first comment is.
I describe the symptom as best I can.

The newer one is a better, more descriptive bug report.

I closed the original bug, and open this one since the first was : (a) not very
concise or descriptive, (b) unassigned, and (c) not assigned to a specific wine
component.

Then describe your problem and not what you think is the cause!
What you said so far is not correct
