bump map settings = 'high' seems to cause characters and some object go black.
medium, low and off work ok
glow detail, at anything other than 'off' causes crazy white screens (at least
with my nvidia cards using the 9631 driver)

Say, if it's hanging, how did you get that stack dump?
The 2007 version has a free trial.
A related app has a 2005 version at
http://www.zdnet.de/downloads/prg/4/9/de2549-wc.html
This app (Wise Buero Komplett 2005)
also hangs on startup, where it says "Initialisiere Grafiken...".
It might be hanging on copy protection and/or the lack
of the OLE interface to wine's riched20.
But loading native riched20 doesn't seem to help, so I dunno.

There's a lot of active fixing going on right now.
You might want to either wait for 0.9.42, or
compile from the sources in git;
either way, follow the recipe at
http://wiki.winehq.org/AdobePhotoshop
for how to install and start Photoshop.

I tried to install but apparently something still is wrong and it can't get the
packages. I think the fix is simple but I am too inexperienced to find it myself

Using the full Path for .pDriverPath (DRIVER_INFO2 and above)
fix the crash.
My Patch still need some cleanup

I tried your patch on clean 0.9.40 source, and it failed.
I tried your patch on clean 0.9.41 source, and it worked.
But because of bug #7512 I was mentioning in the first post, Imgburn crashes
complaining about Unicode thing, preventing to test the patch...
Do you know the DLL responsible for Unicode, perhaps I could use the Windows' one.
