Attempting to run it in wine with all quality settings gives me a black screen and the console I have running in the background prints a great many errors about shader compilation, including a multi hundred line shader dump - the log is attached. The user interface and the HUD can be seen. Left clicking inside the window causes the mouse to be "captured" again. Running the game in virtual desktop 1024x768, and checked the "Automatically capture the mouse in full-screen windows" box in winecfg. Setting MouseWarpOverride to "force" as suggested here http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys causes slightly different behavior: The cursor can still move out of the window, but when moved very fast. Could be related: After each keypress there are 2 fixme lines in terminal, like this: fixme:resource:CopyAcceleratorTableW other process handle 0x69006c? Playing the game with the same Wine version on i386 works. Judging from a post at [0] from 2008 by Andreas Lausch this problem has existed for some time, thus I didn't try to find a "good" version for bisecting on amd64. Please let me know, if there is any patch/test I should run for you or some debugging channel you need. Please note, that I'm seeing this bug with a stock Freelancer (no matter whether it's patched to 1.1 or not). It seems like some mods enable playing of Freelancer on amd64 (e.g. [1] is a recent report for amd64 with a mod).
