wine-1.5.12-157-gbdf9a9f console output
Draytek Syslog reports a Vis C++ error when clicking on the search button.
Tried vcrun6 and vcrun2010 but they made no difference. (winetricks vcrun2003
vcrun2005 are both broken)
Tried "winetricks jet40" but this causes an unhandled exception. Winetricks
reports an error during install too so that might be broken.

Bug #: 29595
Summary: Microsoft Software Jukebox thinks IE not installed,
missing registry key
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.36
Platform: x86-64

OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal

AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: markk(a)clara.co.uk
Classification: Unclassified
This bug applies to Microsoft Software Jukebox, a DVD-ROM containing several
games which can be unlocked after payment.
Jukebox.exe runs when you insert the disc. With Wine however, Jukebox.exe just
shows a message box:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later is required to run the Jukebox.
Retrying after doing "winetricks ie6" didn't improve things.
I got a WINEDEBUG=+all trace, and the part before the message box showed this:
4.207:0009:Call advapi32.RegOpenKeyA(80000002,0040e604
"Software\\Classes\\Applications\\iexplore.exe\\shell\\open\\command",0033faf8)

name=L"Software\\Classes\\Applications\\iexplore.exe\\shell\\open\\command" )
0009: open_key() = OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND { hkey=0000 }
In Windows 2000 with IE 6.0SP1, that registry key does exist; RegEdit reports:
Value name: (Default)
Value data: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" %1

Backtrace Wine 1.8.RC3 on Game.exe
What works:
1. Executing the installation
2. Loading and running Golfdemo.exe
What does not work: starting the actual game. Depending on the selection (SOLO,
twosome, BingoBango) the Golfdemo.exe invokes batch files which cannot be
processed. Furthermore we get the error:
err:ole:CoInitializeEx Attempt to change threading model of this apartment from
multi-threaded to apartment threaded
and a translated message:
"~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games/Golf '99 Trial$
'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Golf '99 Trial\cctwosome.bat' konnte
nicht als interner oder externer Befehl oder als Batch-Skript erkannt werden."
(= could not be recognized as intern or extern command or as a batch script")
The three batch files are
a) ccbingo.bat b) ccsolo.bat c)cctwosome.bat, e.g a) looks:
copy solo\*.*
game.exe
Note that the installed directory for solo is named "Solo" in a Unix
environment. Copying as "solo" did not help.
However, what the batch script does is easily understood, when processed
manually Game.exe crashes with Unhandled exception: page fault on read access
to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code (0x00367550).

But I do not get the bug that Alistair mentions. Instead, the installer runs

terminal:

Before installation, I'm running winetricks dotnet40 win7
There's a winediag error about missing odbc drivers, but jet40 and mdac28 don't
help.
