Bug ID: 42228
Summary: bcrypt:bcrypt test regression (test_aes)
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Hardware: x86
OS: Windows
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: bcrypt
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: fgouget(a)codeweavers.com
Since the commit below, the my Windows 8 Acer laptop has a new test failure:
bcrypt.c:794: Test failed: got 638
See:
https://test.winehq.org/data/tests/bcrypt:bcrypt.html
Note that since the failure does not happen when I boot it under Windows 8.1
and that, as far as I know, I am the only one to run the tests on Windows 8
rather than Windows 8.1 (*), this is probably tied to that specific Windows
version, even more so since the test seems to be pretty dependent on the
Windows version already.
See:
https://test.winehq.org/data/80d2edd5845c09b98cb5b6b7779b4455dfbc1095/index…
(*) The TestBot's two Windows 8 VMs have been upgraded to Windows 8.1.
cw1-hd6800 and cw2-gtx560 only have Windows 8.1 to start with (otherwise they
would have a Windows 8 disk image and I'd have added it to the daily tests).

Backtrace of try to install from autostart
Ok i added the Autostart crash too, it's probably not as important for the
gameplay itself, but the backtrace could be important to wine i think,
additional here are two different terminal logs for that case, one even
contains a line number from an wine dll:

Errors while trying to run FC after installation.
Ok i solved the Codec Problem, but the game still crashes on startup, see log.
Also there is a segfault when trying to run install from autostart menu instead
of starting the install Programm directly, dont know if i should report this
here too, as installation is not the main problem?!

crash log
I tried installing Matlab R2010. It showed me error which is attached.
At first, it requires mfc42.dll. According to Bug 657
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=657, we have to use winetricks to
download the mfc42.dll. I did that, and the setup worked fine till 96%.
However, the setup.exe crashed showing
"FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not
set to an instance of an object"
Please help
Thanks
