Bug #: 31581
Summary: Supreme Commander (steam version) shows a black screen
Product: Wine
Version: 1.5.11
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: bladud(a)gmail.com
Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 41529

Console log
When starting Supreme Commander (the steam version) the screen is black.
The resolution changes, I still get the sound effects, I get a cursor, and
apparently mouseover sounds, but nothing else.
Steam has installed d3dx9_31.dll for me, and I installed steam using
winetricks. Both steam and the addon forged alliance work fine.
I didn't try this on older wine versions, so I don't know if it's a regression.

Summary: GSpot doesn't find Cinepak codec
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.34
Hardware: x86-64
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: iccvid
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: jhansonxi(a)gmail.com
Distribution: ---
When a video with Cinepak compression is loaded by GSpot (clean $WINEPREFIX
directory), it reports the video status as "Codec(s) are NOT Installed".
Workaround:
wine reg add "HKLM\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows
NT\\CurrentVersion\\drivers.desc" /v "iccvid.dll" /t REG_SZ /d "Cinepak Codec
by Radius Inc." /f
wine reg add "HKLM\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\Drivers32"
/v "vidc.cvid" /t REG_SZ /d "iccvid.dll" /f
winetricks -q devenum quartz
Note that the registry keys are that of the native 32-bit iccvid.dll (from
http://www.probo.com/cinepak.php) but the dll itself is not required, although
it doesn't cause problems if installed and an override is set.

Multi monitor Xinerama support was announces in wine-0.9.24:
https://www.winehq.org/announce/0.9.24
And then multi monitor support was again announced in wine-5.0:
https://www.winehq.org/announce/5.0
But no documentation on command line options was given whatsoever, what's the
difference between these multi-monitor supports and how do I actually select a
specific xinerama screen when starting a program using wine?

Output with the legacy renderer
Since 8.1.5 the game has 3 renderers dx11, dx11 legacy and a modern dx12
renderer.
With my amd rx480 it is impossible to use the dx11 modern multi-threaded
renderer to play. It results in single digit fps.
The single threaded legacy renderer works.
Based on comparing the attached logfiles the only obvious difference is
fixme:d3d11:d3d11_device_CreateDeferredContext1 iface 0000000013850120, flags

When started with the correct windows version of win10, the Demo of the game
shows an initial small Graphic with the Game Title and some pyramids as the
loading screen.
Then you get a black screen and before the game menu appears, you get a wine
dialogue box showing you a "fatal error".
There is a call to MFPlat
wine: Call from 0x7b01100e to unimplemented function
fplat.dll.MFGetConfigurationDWORD, aborting
Maybe that needs stubbing out.
