[Bug 5275] Google Earth install error (Installshield)

Is it the absolute latest one available? - Did you try renaming your $HOME/.wine directory to $HOME/.wineold or some such and trying again? - When you run the installer with a WINEDEBUG option as in this example: WINEDEBUG=+all wine ./GoogleEarth.exe 2>&1 | tee all.winelog then does the log output that is produced right before the error shows up onscreen provide any hints? If so, can you send us the relevant portion as an attachment to this bug? - The page http://forums.ngemu.com/software-discussion/48449-installshield-error.html suggests you install DCOM98 from Microsoft, and if that doesn't work, to install the latest Internet Explorer. Seems like too much work to install IE, but you could always try downloading and installing MSFT's DCOM98 and see if that helps.
