Hi, Vitaliy, I'm interested in this bug because I want to run the Life Balance
personal organisation software from Llamagraphics, and they've only compiled it
to run on .NET framework. I've emailed them about compiling on Mono, but,
though they're exploring that possibility, they're not ready to that quite yet.
Searching for ".NET Framework" in the search box on www.winehq.org and in
comp.emulators.ms-windows.wine doesn't find your very useful statement that
this feature will definitely not be added any time soon.
As a side note, Ubuntu displays its development goals very nicely in Launchpad:

This regression is caused by GetWindowLongPtr(hWnd, DWLP_DLGPROC) returning an
invalid pointer (it's called from comctl32/theme_dialog.c). It happens in wine
0.9.13 (I haven't tested yet the latest CVS).

Try to change the return value of FindActCtxSectionStringW from FALSE into TRUE,
in dlls/kernel/actctx.c , and see if it helps. I think this is a duplicate of
bug 4894. This trick helped with another application that had the same problem
(mentioned in comment 13) . If it works i could send a patch and see if it gets
accepted...

Many people including myself have inquired many times about a noticeable
performance difference with 2D games between Wine and Windows (Starcraft, Dark
Reign and presumably many others). A recent post confirmed 2D drawing in Wine
isn't optimal (sorry for the long link).

I am adding this quick note so that user questions are more directly answered by
this report. It'll also explain better why this issue is listed in a game appdb
entry.
