It still crashes in a cvs Version of today. I've tried it with the
Windows-Version set to WinXP and Win 3.1. I'll attach a backtrace of a run in
WinXP mode

you have to put a native dinput.dll (so from a windows installation, or if you
have a window license , from www.dlldump.com) in
~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32. Same holds for msvcrtd.dll (Note, so _not_
msvcrt!). That way i could work around the bug

I noted the error too. It seems to happen in every installshield installer. I
got the problem with Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi
Academy and so on....

IMO, if you want to compile with CFLAGS other than what ./configure produces,
then you should be willing to debug problems and submit patches to fix them
yourself.
While this might be a good thing to fix, I don't believe it should be in
bugzilla, or if it is, it should be marked as an enhancement rather than a bug.
If we consider this a bug, then should we also consider CFLAGS="-Werror"
./configure broken too? That doesn't produce a properly function binary either.
Should we maintain a Gentoo style list of "safe" CFLAGS? If they were really
safe and did something useful, then they should be added to configure.ac.
The simple solution is that if you use CFLAGS="-foo" when configuring, you
should be considered on your own, and solve the problems you come across
yourself. If you want out support, then use plain ./configure.

Summary: Address bar in Avant Browser renders incorrectly
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-gui
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dasnyderx(a)yahoo.com
When the Avant Browser starts for the first time, a splash sceen is shown, and
then the browser shows. The browser stops loading. Turning off of the Address
bar from the toolbar (View->Address bar) causes the browser to fully load. The
Address bar in the 'Open a Link' dialog box (Ctrl+l) also doesn't render
correctly. Entries can be entered, but cannot be viewed as they're being
entered or edited. The Address bar for the Avant Browser Options dialog box
doesn't render fully. Clicking on the left area of the Option dialog box causes
the dialog to fully render.

Sorry Dan but there are some ugly things of m$ making that prevent that.
Like all the horid interdependacies that we can't do nothing about. I'm sure
that could be part of the problem here (some forwards that being optimized out
while they shouldn't).
