Summary: Mouse pointer freezes on the game Diablo2 when presing
Alt
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.16.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-dinput
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: multescugeorge(a)yahoo.com
In normal play Diablo2 i press "Alt", the items on the ground each pop up a
Text label, i can then press on the text label to move-pick up the item.
All was fine until wine 0.9.16, here, i press alt, then i attempt to clik on
the labels, i find that the mouse pointer is frozen in place. Letting go of
Alt releases the pointer(de-frezes). The game is still play-able, but this bug
is a little annoying.
I regressed my wine to 0.9.15 and all is fine once more.

Your ALSA drivers are not setup correctly.
For the video mode problem, please get the output of the command "xrandr".

Wrong. Battle.net support in every version of starcraft has always used UDP. So
your reason for resolving the bug is wrong, and even according to your latest
report there is something wrong still. But if you want to resolve your bug
that's fine with me.

Updating Starcraft through battlenet is possible. Since bnet menus aren't drawn
properly, it is not possible to know the progress. If you wait a few minutes
after starting the update (one Ok button needs to be pushed) a message will
eventually confirm the update is downloaded.
Note update through bnet is only possible if udp support is present in your
game. The only way to get udp support is to install a patch manually. In my case
I first manually updated from 1.0 to 1.10, then I updated from 1.10 to 1.13f
thru bnet.
Verified in 0.9.16.

The app runs now, but you have to wait about a minute for it to load. There
should be a status bar from what I'm told, but Wine doesn't render it. Once the
app starts, everything is really out of whack - objects upside-down, blurred,
mirrored, fonts are illegible... But, it launches, that's a start.
It uses 1.x shaders so it should be usuable in both ARB and GLSL mode if you
have Pixel Shaders enabled in winecfg. I'll be toying with this one.

+d3d trace through a complete test #1: http://otc.dyndns.org/d3dtrace.bz2
Ignore the crash at the end, that's due to the dinput issue.
Generated with today's git.
Note that the trace is ~5 megs bzipped, but uncompresses to just under 500
megs.

Summary: Install can not find WORDPAD for README
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.16.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-programs
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: alexeagar(a)gmail.com
While installing Personal Ancestral File 5 with default install settings I get a Warning that says 'Could not
find WORDPAD on your system!' This only happens when you choose to see the README after installation.
The README option is selected by default.
Wine should have something to open this README.
PAF 5 can be downloaded for free at http://www.familysearch.org/eng/home/welcome/pafDownload.asp
I am offering a growing jackpot to the person that fixes this bug. Details can be found at http://
www.eagargospelstudy.org/paf/
