Abandoned. Wine has it's own version of "IE" based on Gecko. File any problems
related to that as a separate bugs. If you need "real" IE - use windows that is
what it's part of.

I guess the issues are so hard to describe that they are more in the users
hands then in Wine.
Reporter, when you are asked to describe what is _THE_ problem you have to do
that.
Closing invalid. Can not reproduce.

Summary: Crysis demo will not start
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.48.
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.fileplanet.com/168866/160000/fileinfo/Crysis-
Demo-(Singleplayer)
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: wine-directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: l_bratch(a)yahoo.co.uk
Guessing wine-directx-d3d as the component.
This is the demo of the game (different to any previous bugs about the beta,
which still works).
It shows the initial "this is a demo" text, then stops. The process never
actually closes, but top sees Crysis.exe as defunct.

Nope. Your code did do something... it reversed the problem of an unpatched
game.

The latest version of wine still has this problem (0.9.48, 0.9.49). It works
fine on wine-0.9.9 however.

I'm pretty sure you forgot some of:
- the hostname has to resolve to you LAN IP on the linux box (/etc/hosts)
- run 'autoreconf' before configure
- regitrsy value on the linux box User/Software/Wine/Network/UseBindAddressHack
= "enabled"

Well, the patch doesn't work for us. Therefore we'll be going back to my/Samuel
Ytterbrink's solution of the broadcast to unicast translator.
When he applied the patch, he could see me and see my games but I could not see
him nor could he join my games. I'll be attaching the latest version of the
translator.
Please note: This was a Linux AND Windows PC test; I'd imagine it will work if
they are both Linux computers. So it seems your solution would work with 2
Linux systems and mine/Samuel's works with a Linux/Windows combination.
Also: The latest version of the C++ Broadcast to Unicast Translator supports
more than one target.

I worked around this problem in quicktime by switching to gdi mode and using a
native gdiplus.dll to work around bug #9366.
