Yes, Wine does support 16bit apps. There are probably tons of bugs (this one
included), but that doesn't mean we don't support them.

NB is a 16-bit program. Wine does not support 16-bit. Not really a bug but a
lack of features.

Tried in git, claims to need mdac28. Used winetricks to install it, but still
complains. Didn't test any further...

Summary: hl2-based games crash with a bug in mshtml
(setup_nswindow)
Product: Wine
Version: 1.0-rc2
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: oneofone(a)gmail.com
CC: jacek(a)codeweavers.com, schuh(a)berkeley.edu
Same bug as #12582, started happening around -rc1.
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #12582 +++
solidworks crashes a startup calling setup_nswindow in mshtml. It is a major
regression, as it used to work for a long time.
I tried to force gecko installation with winetricks gecko, but it doesn't
change anything (it is already installed during installation).

The runlog
Games made with Game maker don't draw in a proper way, or simply give
"Unexpecter error while running the game". I think the problem is with directx,
I'm 95 % sure.

I can confirm this too - using workaround game stops complaining about DX but
crashes before anything shows up.
