http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26196
Summary: Need a way to force processor affinity / or force
single core
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.14
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: gQuigs(a)gMail.com
It does not appear possible to run a wine command with schedtool processor
affinity and have it carry on to what wine actually runs.
I tried it with steam and couldn't get it to do so in the initial command. (you
can do so after running, but then this get's very bad with full screen
games/etc)
I suggest it is added as an option in winecfg, possibly to just force single
core.

if it depend on mic volume level, you have to find out the dB values in
"alsamixer -c0" since the dB range of capture volume of most sound cards are
+ve (gain) instead of atten so clipping will occur at certain level

It's not complete yet, but some applications may work better. I'd suggest
waiting a while though before saying it's done ;-).

If I'm seeing this correctly, no - it's gone mainline! Which should mean that
since 1.3.18 it's enabled by default. Well, I'm excited, and it's the perfect
time to test this feature, too.

This is strange, because it worked once for me yesterday, but after that would
repeatedly fail, and continues today.
The hotfix is wanted by Games For Windows Live, see bug 26778.
It will fail with an error box saying "Path not found".
Terminal doesn't show much:
