WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d9=n,b" wine Gw2-64.exe -autologin -fps 144
Arcdps, a dps counter addon for Guild Wars 2 which works with a dll override
for d3d9.dll (https://www.deltaconnected.com/arcdps/), causes the game to crash
after the after character select load screen ends on wine staging 5.14 and up
(weirdly, wine staging built with the TKG scripts works up to 5.19 but breaks
the same way on 5.20) but works fine on all the plain wine versions I tested
(5.18, 5.19, 5.20, 6.1)

The default key for swapping weapons in Guild Wars 2 with a German keyboard
layout is '^' (Circumflex accent). However, nothing happens if you press that
key to swap weapons under Wine.
You can type '^' in chat just fine though. Likewise, you can swap weapons if
you bind it to another key like 't' or if you press the swap button with the
mouse.
Once you change the binding away from ^, it is no longer possible to return to
^ since the dialog doesn't register the key press either. (You can still reset
all controls back to default; there's a button for that.)
Testing further, it turns out that you also can't bind the ´ key (Acute
accent).
>From images online I do believe English keyboards have a ` (Grave accent)
button, which probably works the same as the German ^ and ` keys. To make sure
I'll spell it out anyway:
1. Press ^ once and you get a sort of preview of that character.
2. Usually you'd now press e.g. 'a' to get 'â'. If you actually want ^ without
anything below it, you have to press ^ a second time.
I suspect that this special behavior is why these two specifically are
affected.
It's very possible that the English ` is also affected, but that's not testable
for me.
The easiest way to reproduce should be to go Esc -> Options -> Control options
(lowest button on the left) -> Double click on anything to try to change the
binding.

WARNING: The GOG version of the game is broken starting from Wine version 9.17.
(Different bug.)
GAME DEMO CAN BE DOWNLOADED FROM:
https://archive.org/details/TotalAnnihilation_201405
I tested the Total Annihilation demo on the following Wine versions: 9.22,
9.22-staging, 9.0, 8.0, and 7.0.
Additionally, I tested the GOG version of Total Annihilation with the Commander
Pack on these Wine versions: 9.16 (last working version), 9.0, 8.0, and 7.0.
The bug is present in all tested versions, so it is likely not a regression.
Attaching wine and windows screen-shots.
After starting gameplay, everything works correctly, only menu is bugged.

hi,
I tried DAMAVAND (wine-9.0-rc2 + vkd3d-git).
The game runs but very badly, I have ~4 FPS in the main menu, it crashes when i
launch a new game and the main menu does not appear correctly.
For information, the game has bad performance with DXVK too but WINEFSYNC fix
this issue. FSYNC + DAMAVAND has not effect.

Logs showing the video driver failures in Wine 10.0_1 and higher
On macOS Sequoia, using Apple Silicon on a MacBook Pro, running Dungeons and
Dragons online and entering the game world on any version of Wine *after* 10.0
will stop with a message:
"No suitable graphics device was found. Are you running through a remote
session or a VM? If not, please check your video hardware capabilities. [122]"
The game terminates and cannot be played. Note that the Game Launcher works
fine. It is the game client that fails -the bit that uses DX9 and above.
If the original Wine 10.0 is installed (prior to 10.0_1), it works fine.
To recreate:
Working case (Wine 10.0):
- Register a free account at: https://www.ddo.com/register
- Download the game installer here: https://www.ddo.com/download
- Install wine 10.0, (not wine-stable - see instructions below).
- Install the game to a standard wine prefix.
- Run "C:/Program Files (x86)/StandingStoneGames/Dungeons & Dragons
Online/DNDLauncher.exe" to enter the launcher. Use your free account.
- Enter the world "Orien".
- Observe that the character creation screen in the game client appears.
Non working case (Wine 10.0_1 and higher):
- Install any higher version of Wine, i.e. wine-stable (10.0_2), wine@staging
or wine@devel.
- Install the game to a standard wine prefix (if you didn't already).
- Run "C:/Program Files (x86)/StandingStoneGames/Dungeons & Dragons
Online/DNDLauncher.exe" to enter the launcher. Use your free account.
- Enter the world "Orien".
- The game client will stop with error [122] as it tries to connect to DX9.
My observation:
10.0 uses:
[mvk-info] MoltenVK version 1.2.10, supporting Vulkan version 1.2.290.
10.0_1 and higher all use:
[mvk-info] MoltenVK version 1.3.0, supporting Vulkan version 1.3.313.
There are literally no code changes in Wine from 10.0 to 10.0_1. But these
graphics libs did change and now there appears to be no video driver.
I have been using brew to install. Here is a speedy way to get the original
Wine 10.0 installed on a machine:
brew uninstall wine-stable # or wine@staging or wine@devel, as needed
curl -o wine-stable.rb
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/homebrew-cask/3b6f8acd9c1f8aad56…
sed -i '' 's/wine64/msidb/g' wine-stable.rb # Implements an important change
from the 10.0_1 brew cask.
brew install --no-quarantine wine-stable.rb # Note the '.rb' suffix.
# If you are on Apple Silicon, install Apple's x86 emulator. Ignore any errors.
/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license
For the breaking case, you can just "brew install --no-quarantine [wine-stable
| wine@staging | wine@devel]". No need to use older casks.
Note that the current gstreamer is not compatible with wine-stable. Optionally
add these commands to prevent gstreamer from being noisy and slowing things
down:
export GST_PLUGIN_PATH=/dev/null
export GST_PLUGIN_SYSTEM_PATH=/dev/null
I have attached logs from 10.0 (working) and 10.9 (not working).
I used WINEDEBUG="+seh,+tid,+d3d,+vulkan,+dxvk,+d3d12".
Please let me know if you need any additional info from me.
Thanks,
Chris.
