That may or may not work, because the WM may decide to use alt as an activator anyways (for pressing and releasing alt, and then using the arrow keys to switch between menus). One thing I wonder about is if there is something in the registry for window management. I recall that there used to be a DXGrab option and several options for how X handled windows.. I know the DXGrab is removed now, but I wonder if there something X is doing that can be controlled. My other question is this: Is this issue specific to Xorg vs XFree, or vice versa, or does it affect both? Lastly, George, could you do a regression test to find out which patch broke this behavior?
